Understanding CPM, CPC, and CTR in Your Mintfunnel Dashboard

Updated over 2 months ago

Mintfunnel provides near real-time performance metrics to help you evaluate and optimize your native ad campaigns. The three primary metrics tracked are CPC, CTR, and CPM.

Here’s what each one means and how to use them effectively.

CPC (Cost Per Click)

Definition:
The actual amount you are charged for each click on your ad.

How it's determined:
Mintfunnel automatically calculates the most cost-efficient CPC based on your campaign settings and available ad placements. You will never be charged more than your specified max CPC.

Why it matters:
CPC is a direct reflection of how much you're paying for traffic. Lower CPCs can help maximize the reach and ROI of your campaign.

CTR (Click-Through Rate)

Definition:
The percentage of ad impressions that resulted in clicks.

Formula:
CTR = (Clicks ÷ Impressions) × 100

Why it matters:
CTR shows how engaging your ad is. A high CTR suggests your image and headline are resonating with viewers and encouraging them to click.

Tip:
Improving your creative or refining your targeting can lead to better CTR.

CPM (Cost Per Mille / Cost per 1,000 Impressions)

Definition:
The effective cost you’re paying for every 1,000 ad impressions, calculated based on actual click charges.

Formula:
CPM = (Total Spend ÷ Impressions) × 1,000

Why it matters:
CPM helps you evaluate the visibility of your ads relative to spend. It’s a useful way to compare overall exposure across different campaigns.
