How to Measure Conversions Using Mintfunnel

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Mintfunnel makes it simple for advertisers to track conversions and measure campaign performance through popular analytics tools like Google Analytics.

Default UTM Parameters

Every click from a Mintfunnel native ad automatically includes the following UTM parameters:

?utm_source=mintfunnel&utm_medium=native&utm_campaign={campaignID}

These parameters will allow you to see traffic in your analytics platforms under:

  • Source: mintfunnel

  • Medium: native

  • Campaign: The unique ID of your campaign

This makes it easy to attribute traffic and conversions back to your Mintfunnel campaigns.

Overriding Default UTMs

If you'd prefer to use your own UTM structure (for example, to align with a specific naming convention in your analytics tools), you can override the default parameters.

To do this, simply append your own UTM values when submitting the campaign URL during ad setup.

Example:

https://yourlandingpage.com/?utm_source=customsource&utm_medium=custommedium&utm_campaign=customcampaign

In this case, Mintfunnel will respect your custom parameters, and these will be passed through on ad clicks instead of the default UTMs.

Best Practices

  • Use consistent naming for your custom UTM parameters to streamline reporting.

  • Always double-check your links to ensure parameters are properly formatted.

  • Combine UTM data with goals or event tracking in your analytics platform to measure conversions effectively.

Troubleshooting

If you're not seeing Mintfunnel traffic in your analytics:

  • Ensure the final URL in your ad contains UTM parameters.

  • Check that your analytics tool isn't filtering or grouping traffic in a way that hides the source.

  • Make sure your campaign is active and receiving impressions and clicks.
