The fallback code feature lets publishers ensure there's always monetized content on their site—even if there are no eligible Mintfunnel ads to show.
This is especially useful for publishers who rely on consistent ad revenue and want to make sure no space goes to waste. For example, if your widget doesn't have a live campaign that matches your site's tags or geo-targeting rules, the fallback code will automatically display your backup ad code, like Google AdSense, or another ad network.
When to Use This Feature
You're a great fit for fallback code if:
You want to monetize with Mintfunnel but are concerned about ad fill rates.
You already use another ad network and want to make sure it's still active when Mintfunnel ads aren’t.
You want full control over the monetization experience on your site.
How It Works
Log in to your Mintfunnel Publisher Dashboard.
Navigate to the Ad Widget section.
Select the Advanced tab
Paste your backup ad code (e.g. Google AdSense) into the Fallback Code field.
(See screenshot below for where to place this code.)Save your widget settings.
Install or update the widget code on your website if you haven’t already.
That’s it! Mintfunnel will now automatically detect when there are no eligible ads to show and load your fallback content instead.
Example Use Case
Say your crypto news blog is only eligible for campaigns targeting European users, but one day there are no live campaigns with that geo setting. Instead of showing a blank widget or no content, Mintfunnel will auto-load your fallback code, keeping your revenue flowing and your layout clean.
