How Ad Widgets Select and Display Ads

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Mintfunnel’s native ad widgets are designed to deliver high-quality, relevant content to your audience, while ensuring that only eligible and appropriate ads appear on your site.

Here’s how the selection process works behind the scenes.

Campaign Eligibility and Selection

Each time a widget loads, the system evaluates all available ad campaigns to determine which are eligible to be shown. Eligibility depends on several factors, including:

  • Campaign approval and active status

  • Sufficient budget

  • Geo-targeting that matches the visitor’s location

Prioritization by Bid

Among the eligible campaigns, those with higher Max CPC bids are given priority. This ensures that premium ad slots are filled with top-value campaigns.

Slot-Based Rendering

Your widget is configured with a specific number of ad slots. Only the top-ranked eligible ads are selected to fill those slots. If fewer ads qualify than the number of available slots, only the qualifying ads are shown.

Widget Behavior

If no ads meet the eligibility requirements, the widget will not render at all. This avoids showing empty or irrelevant spaces on your site.

Fine-Tuned Content Controls

As a publisher, you have control over the types of ads that appear through category settings. You can block categories that don’t align with your audience or brand, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience for your users.

Mintfunnel’s ad delivery engine ensures that widget content remains relevant, engaging, and aligned with your monetization goals.
