We believe publishers deserve complete control over the type of content that shows on their sites. Therefore, Mintfunnel allows publishers to maintain control over the types of ads shown in their widgets by using tag blacklists.
This feature helps you prevent specific categories or topics from appearing on your website, ensuring alignment with your audience and content standards.
What Are Tag Blacklists?
Tag blacklists are filters that automatically exclude ads containing certain types of content.
These tags are set by the moderation team to describe the nature or category of their campaigns.
When you blacklist a tag, any campaign associated with that tag will be completely excluded from appearing in your widget.
This exclusion is absolute—even if the campaign otherwise meets all eligibility criteria.
How to Add Blacklist Tags
Navigate to the Ad Widgets tab.
Select Blacklist Settings
From the dropdown, select the types of content you want to blacklist from displaying on your site. You can select multiple tags.
Save your changes.
What Happens Next?
Once you save your blacklist tags:
The widget will automatically filter out any campaigns of this type.
The system will continue to prioritize and serve eligible campaigns based on bid amount and targeting, as usual.
If no eligible ads remain due to blacklist restrictions, the widget will not render any ads at all.
Tips for Effective Use
Be thoughtful with your blacklisting to avoid unintentionally filtering out relevant ads, which may reduce your earnings.
Regularly review your tags based on ad performance or content policy changes.
